Senior Controls Engineer

Location: Southampton, Hampshire

Salary: Circa 40-55k (dependant on experience) + benefits

Key Responsibilities

·         PLC & HMI Programming

·         Electrical Control Systems Design

·         Installation and Commissioning of Robotic Automation Systems

·         Providing Technical Support to both customers and the team

·         Continuous development and improvement of Automation Solutions, standards and documentation

·         Some travel to customer sites, throughout the UK (usually there and back in a day) but you should be prepared to stay away overnight on average 1 night per month (car provided, and expenses paid).

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

It is essential that you have a highly relevant Degree/HNC or equivalent electrical engineering qualification that provides a solid foundation in the principals of Electrical or Control Systems Engineering.

You will also need a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within the Automation Sector with knowledge of current electrical regulations and working practices. To be considered you will need to have 2 years’ experience of at least 3 of the following; 

·         RSLogix 5000 & 500

·         Mitsubishi GX Works 2

·         Siemens S7 & S5

·         RSNetworx for Device-net or similar Industrial Networking

·         Proface Software

·         E-Designer

·         ProTool

·         AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan

·         6-Axis Robot Programming
