The Company
Our client is a leading Tier 1 automotive manufacturer supplying components to global automotive brands. Renowned for excellence, innovation, and a commitment to quality, the company operates a modern, high-volume production facility and is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and develop its quality function.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Quality Manager will oversee all aspects of the site’s quality management system, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and company processes. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage a team of quality professionals, and act as the main point of contact for customer quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop the site quality team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high standards.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and relevant automotive customer standards.
Manage customer quality requirements, including audits, PPAP submissions, and non-conformance resolution.
Drive the resolution of quality issues, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
Develop, monitor, and report quality KPIs to senior management.
Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to implement quality improvements.
Maintain robust documentation and ensure all quality processes are current, accurate, and followed.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in a quality management role within the automotive industry, ideally at a Tier 1 supplier.
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
Demonstrable experience managing a quality team and driving operational improvements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical skills and experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and root cause analysis.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Exposure to customer audits and supplier quality management.
Familiarity with ERP and QMS software systems used in automotive production.
